Fashion Week  in New York was earlier this month and we noticed a lot of spring 2013 makeup trends that are sure to be popular at prom 2013. Looking for your perfect prom dress is important but it is just as important to visualize your entire prom look when deciding on a prom dress. Below are some 2013 prom makeup tips and prom makeup trends for 2013 and some suggested prom dresses 2013 to go with each trend.

Cherry Lips

Cherry lips were spotted all over the runway and will sure to make an impact this prom season. Cherry lips are bold so balance out the look with some dewy skin and a neutral eye. Pair your pretty pout with a classic black prom dress for a glamorous look or this stunning long dress by La Femme. La Femme 17909 features a gorgeous strapless top with chunky, silver stones and a bright cherry colored skirt (they call this color Watermelon). The simple silhouette and long flowy skirt would look amazing with your cherry lips to match!

Dramatic Eyes

Much like the cat eyes of last season, this season bold eye liner takes center stage. With dramatic eye looks seen on the runways at various fashion shows like Marc Jacobs and BCBG, we are sure to see this look at prom 2013. To achieve a dramatic eye look, get a long-wear eyeliner and line the entire eye both top and bottom making the liner extend slightly past your eyelid. This is similar to a cat eye but not as long of a line. Smudge with your finger or a soft Q-tip and add some sparkly dark shadow. Voila! Your eyes will look gorgeous so your dress will need to be extra special to be the focus. Try a sparkly beaded dress or sequined dress like this fitted dress by Flirt. Flirt PF4142 has all over sequins and a glamorous sweep train. The top is a halter top and the bodice is fitted. Flirt PF4142 comes in two colors that would both look amazing with dramatic eye makeup. The color shown here is called Blue Pacific and the other color is called Passion Pink, a deep rose colored pink.

Colorful Eyes

Another eye trend for spring 2013 is bright, colorful eyes. Though definitely not for everyone, you can wear this trend at prom 2013 by keeping the color simple and more subtle than seen on the runways. Try light pink lids with a dark or light pink prom dress or turquoise liner with a soft blue dress. An emerald green colored prom dress like this Scala prom dress (Q17076) would look pretty with a soft, sparkly green shadow and teal green liner. This strapless Scala prom dress has beautiful iridescent sequins and rhinestones on the fitted bodice. The flowing skirt is made of chiffon and would be  fun to dance the night away at prom! Pair your bright, gorgeous eyes with Scala Q17076 and you are sure to light up in all the prom 2013 photos!
